COURCHEVEL
I was recently in Courchevel and to date it is the most beautiful place I have ever skied. Courchevel is one of the three mountains in the trois valleies in France. For one month prior to our arrival it snowed heavily and created a base of 2.5 meters with a top of pure powder. If that wasn’t good enough, for the entire time that we skied we had clear blue skies and sunshine, the best skiing conditions imaginable. We were also lucky enough to be accompanied by two sterling instructors, Chris and Daria from Ski Prestige. The French truly know how to do it in style . The restaurants in Courchevel are carved out of antique wood and the food is a triumph of french cuisine. With a prevalence of truffles on the menu, indicating the decadence of the region, most restaurants have rocking Dj’s and some pump the music from outdoor decks with the speakers framing the mountain peaks behind them ( La Roc). What a way to ski, what a way to enjoy life.
